Vintage Japanese Clay Bell Dorei 

This is a vintage Japanese clay bell, or dorei. Representing the animals of the zodiac, this bell in is the shape of a mouse. It is white with gold, pink, and red accents as well as a paper sticker with cherry blossoms on one side. It has a small white clay ball inside and a braided red and white string tied at the top.
Dorei bells have a long history and have been used in festivals and ceremonies since the Jomon period (about 13000 to 2300 years ago) when they were said to have the power to ward off evil spirits.

• Good condition considering age. Some scuff marks and discoloration. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos carefully.
