Japanese Wooden Kokeshi Doll

This vintage Japanese wooden kokeshi doll has a classic design (round head, cylindrical body). The body is straight, and it is painted with a dark blue kimono with red obi sash and flowers. The facial expression is young and cheerful, and it is surrounded by tufts of black painted hair and extra red details to match the body. It has been brushed with a clear lacquer coating to give it shine.
Kokeshi dolls are traditional toys, figurines, and charms crafted from wood that are an excellent decorative representation of Japanese craftsmanship and traditional culture.
