Japanese Ceramic Yunomi Teacup

This vintage Japanese teacup has a muted green glaze with swirl design. It is tall and lightweight, so it rests nicely on one’s hands.
This cup is called yunomi or a smaller, sometimes more cylindrical cup made for serving and drinking sencha (standard looseleaf tea). These cups are typically brought to guest in one’s home, a business, or a restaurant on a lacquered obon tray.
