Vtg Japanese Ceramic Green Tea Bowl

This is a vintage Japanese ceramic green tea bowl, or matcha chawan. It is mostly beige with dark green drips and brown hatch and symbol designs. This piece is in the oribe style. It has a smooth, ribbed texture. It is sturdy and easy to handle. This shape of this bowl is called dojimari-gata, which is a waisted tea bowl with a groove through the middle.
Green tea bowls are traditionally used for preparing and drinking green tea during tea ceremonies but can be used in many scenes of modern everyday life.
