Vintage Japanese Ceramic Suiban for Ikebana Flower Arrangement

This is a vintage ceramic Japanese flower vase, or suiban. This piece is large and a round bowl shape that tapers into a pedestal-style foot. It is glazed a pinkish-gray color with a green swirl on the inside. The texture is mostly smooth, but with subtle line accents at curl down into the bottom from the outside edge.
Suiban means “water tray” and typically houses the spiked weight (kenzan) that hold ikebana flower stems in place, but can also be used as a base for a flower pot, or even a potted bonsai.
