Vintage Japanese Ceramic Suiban for Ikebana Flower Arrangement

This is a vintage ceramic Japanese flower vase, or suiban. An abstract shape with plenty of curves and cutouts for dressing up any ikebana arrangement, this suiban is a glossy dark blue on the outside and light blue on the inside.
Suiban means “water tray” and typically houses the spiked weight (kenzan) that hold ikebana flower stems in place, but can also be used as a base for a flower pot, or even a potted bonsai.
