Vintage Japanese Pottery Sake Bottle Kayoi-Tokkuri 

This is a vintage Japanese ceramic sake bottle. It is called a Kayoi-Tokkuri and is used to pour sake. The commuting sake bottle became popular as a rental container for liquor stores in the Edo period when sake began to be consumed daily. It is covered with brown glaze, and an unglazed rectangular design is made using a wax resist technique, ronuki. The body is round, and the neck is thin.

• Good condition considering age. Slightly wobbly. Some particles on the bottom from production.  Light discoloration. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos carefully.
