This item is an antique Japanese ceramic bowl made for salads. It is a beautiful example of the kutani imari style of pottery which uses bright, vivid colors often with gold accents and elaborate images of scenery, animals, flowers, etc. This particular bowl features large orange and red peonies with leaves as well as other plants detailed in a subtle gold.
