Vtg Japanese Ceramic Tiger Zodiac Decoration

This is a vintage Japanese ceramic figurine. It represents a walking tiger with a fierce gaze. This figurine of a tiger is in a pale green color mimicking jade. The figurine comes with a black plastic stand. 
Tiger, or tora, is one of the twelve signs of Japanese Zodiac (Junishi). There is a sign for each yearand a full cycle is repeated after 12 years. It is common to display the year’s sign in the entrance or in the living room in Japan. Tiger decorations also symbolize strengh and authority, and are a beloved figure around the world.
