Vtg Japanese Ceramic Green Tea Bowl

This is a vintage Japanese ceramic green tea bowl or matcha chawan. This bowl is in the Nezumi Shino ware style, a type of Mino ware. It has a gray underglaze and a white dripping top glaze. The base and the white glaze make a textured surface. There is a signature near the foot.  It is sturdy and easy to handle.  It is wrapped with an orange cloth and cased in a wooden box with a ribbon.

Green tea bowls are traditionally used to prepare and drink green tea during tea ceremonies, but can be used in many scenes of modern everyday life.
