Vtg Japanese Tea Ceremony Bowl Chawan 

This is a Japanese vintage green tea bowl, Matcha Chawan. This bowl has a green glaze with Kannyu (crack lines). The bowl has a few spots where the glaze is missing or dripping. Green tea bowls are not only for drinking tea these are also for appreciating tea bowls as works of art. These have various sizes and styles. Shallow bowls are used in summer which is for the tea to cool quickly, and deep bowls are used in winter to keep the tea hot for a longer time.
