Vintage Japanese Ceramic Nabe Bowl

This vintage Japanese ceramic small bowl (kobachi) is light brown and white with a brown bamboo leaves at the center. This type of bowl is generally used for retrieving food from nabe hot pot, shabu shabu, or other shared dishes. It is to catch any drips or be used as a dipping bowl (as in the case of shabu shabu). The tapered part of the rim is to grip like a handle for easy lifting and maneuvering at the dining table.
