Vintage Iron Branding Stamp
This is a vintage cast iron branding stamp called yaki-in. This piece is meant to be placed over fire or coals and is used to mark wood, leather, fabrics, and, most famously, Japanese sweets such as manju. It has kanji for an uchiwa (flat hand fan) shop (志ぶ うちわ kokorozashibu uchiwa).
