Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Orin Bell with Lacquered Wooden Stand

This is a vintage Japanese orin bell for Buddhist altars. It contains a bronze metal bowl with a dark brown wooden striker. It rests on a red and gold silk pillow with a white tassel as well as on a square black and gold lacquered wooden stand with brass metal decorative plates. 
Singing bowls are sounded during ritual prayer.
Orin bell sound can reach the Buddha in the Pure Land. It is also used to ward off people’s evil spirits and convey prayers to the Buddha, ancestors, and the deceased through sound.
