Vtg Japanese Buddhist Senko Incense 

These are vintage Japanese Buddhist o-senko, incense sticks cased in a wooden box. It contains about one hundred and fifty long sticks and one hundred and eighty short sticks. In the wooden box, the long sticks are cased in three paper boxes, short sticks are in two paper boxes. The wooden box and the lid are tied with a purple string.  
The scent of incense sticks is said to feed and purify the deceased, and the smoke delivers prayers and thoughts to the ancestors and the dead. Incense is also used to purify a space or to change one’s state of mind.

• Good condition considering the age. The sticks are unused. Mark of purple string on the wooden box. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos carefully.
