Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Orin Bell with Lacquered Wooden Stand

This is a vintage Japanese orin bell for Buddhist altars. It contains a metal bowl with a dark brown wooden striker. It rests on a red, purple, and gold silk pillow with a red tassel as well as on a square red and gold lacquered wooden stand with brass metal decorative plates. 
Singing bowls are sounded during ritual prayer.
Orin bell sound can reach the Buddha in the Pure Land. It is also used to ward off people’s evil spirits and convey prayers to the Buddha, ancestors, and the deceased through sound.
