Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Incense Stick Holder

This is a bronze metal incense stick holder, senkousashi, for Buddhist altars. It is used to hold long sticks of incense to be burned in front of a butsudan or Buddhist home altar during prayer. This particular container is a brown color with a curvy shape and a decorative border on the base.
