Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Hanging Lantern Butsugu Parts

This is a spare part from a vintage Japanese Buddhist brass metal hanging lantern, or rinto, made to be hung in Buddhist altars (butsugu). In particular, this part is used as a cup or reservoir in the bottom part of the rinto set. It sits in the bottom tray/cup and lifts another plate or cup (which then holds various things such as decorative weights, candles, or even electric lights). It has a raised circle at the center.
