Vtg Japanese Buddhist Altar Butsudan Part

This item is a decorative border part from a Japanese vintage wooden Buddhist altar cabinet. The whole piece is painted in black lacquer and features distinctive gold-colored brass metal pieces adorned with a floral pattern. 

In Japan, the Buddhist altar is a place to enshrine the principal image that is the center of faith, and is a sacred place to hold memorial services for ancestors as a “small temple in the home”.
