Antique Japanese Buddhist Incense Container Kogo 

This is an antique Japanese incense container, or Kogo, used in Buddhist altars. A kogo is a small container with a lid and is used for keeping powder-type or woodchip-type incense for Buddhist ceremonies. It is very simple with no carvings or other embellishments and it is lacquered black. The lid fits flush and freely at the top.

• Good condition considering its age. Lacquer has lost its luster (may need thorough cleaning). Small scratches. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
