Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Offering Cup Stand　

This is a Japanese offering cup stand for a Buddhist altar. Also called bukki, this important altar accessory is gold and black and has an elegant plum blossom-shaped top surface. It stands on five curved gold legs a little taller than others like it. It is used often in pairs to hold small cups of rice, sake, and more as an offering to Buddha and one’s ancestors.
