Japanese Hanging Scroll Kakejiku W/ Wooden Box

This vintage Japanese hanging scroll (kakejiku or makimono) features an illustration of Mount Fuji above clouds and a lake. This piece is signed with a red seal. It is stored in a wooden box which says Saishiki Sansui meaning a colored landscape. 

Kakejiku is a Japanese picture or calligraphy mounted on a piece of paper. Kakejiku was a tool to spread Buddhism in Japan. It has been integrated with Japanese culture as interior decoration. Tokokake is used at the Tokonoma in tatami room. Chakake has Zen words used in the tea ceremony room. Buddha-kake is used in the Buddhist altar.
