Vintage Japanese Bamboo Basket

This is a vintage Japanese bamboo basket. Sometimes called morikago, a multipurpose basket typically found on tables and countertops, this piece is commonly used to hold seasonal fruits as the spaces between the woven bands of bamboo allow air to pass through.
Expertly woven with fine strips of bamboo in the hexagonal mutsume-ami style (also called Shaker), this spacious, round basket is the perfect addition to any home or office decor.
