Antique Japanese Lacquered Wooden Jingasa Hat

This is an antique Japanese lacquered wood hat, Jingasa. Jingasa are worn by samurai and footsoldiers. This Jingasa hat is black and features a gold round sun crest (Hinomaru crest). It has the original cushion and straps to attach the hat to the head.

• Good condition considering its age. Scratches and marks. Lacquer peels. Dents and chips. Discoloration on the fabric straps and cushion. Small holes in the fabric. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos carefully.
