Antique Japanese Pottery Sake Bottle Kayoi-Tokkuri
This is an antique Japanese ceramic sake bottle. It is called a Kayoi-Tokkuri and is used to pour sake. The commuting sake bottle became popular as a rental container for liquor stores in the Edo period when sake began to be consumed on a daily basis. This period bottle is brown with some white/beige Japanese kanji characters on the outside.
