Vintage Japanese Lacquered Wooden Serving Tray

This is a Japanese vintage lacquered wooden tray, or Obon, typically used for serving drinks and snacks to guests in one's home, business, etc. Colored a glossy orangeish-brown (typical of shunkei nuri style) with lovely wood grain on display, this large, sturdy round tray provides both function and beautiful decor. It also features tall sides to prevent drinks and other items from sliding off.

  • Approx. 30 cm wide x 3.5 cm tall
  • Good condition considering its age. Some rough patches where lacquer was applied. Lacquer has worn away on edges in some places. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
