It is called a \u003cem\u003ekayoi-tokkuri\u003c\/em\u003e and is used to pour and store sake. The commuting sake bottle became popular as a rental container for liquor stores in the Edo period when sake began to be consumed daily. This bottle is an off-white color with a handpainted indigo blue peony and leaves painted on one side.
