It is the decorative railing that decorates the front part of the top step of the butsudan. It is a set of six pieces made of wood; two large L-shaped pieces, two medium corner pieces, and two small end pieces. It is lacquered with a rich crimson red and the bottom underside is black. In addition to gold painted accents, there are small brass plate embellishments on the posts of each piece.
