Japanese Ceramic Yunomi Teacup
This vintage Japanese teacup has a classic sometsuke design of indigo blue on colorless white glaze. It features a simple swooping bird design and has a feather on the inside bottom of the cup.
This small cup is called yunomi or a smaller, sometimes more cylindrical cup made for serving and drinking sencha (standard looseleaf tea). These cups are typically brought to guest in one's home, a business, or a restaurant on a lacquered obon tray.
