Vtg Japanese Ceramic Green Tea Bowl

This is a vintage Japanese ceramic green tea bowl, or matcha chawan. It has a shallow shape with a generously wide width for the summer tea ceremony. It allows the tea to cool slightly before drinking from the open air. It features subtle throwing lines on the body, with a glaze flowing along them in natural beige and brown variation. There is a subtle whirl pattern inside. A glossy, darker brown glaze accents it. It has a signature around the foot.
Green tea bowls are traditionally used for preparing and drinking green tea during tea ceremonies but can be used in many scenes of modern everyday life.
