Vtg Japanese Ceramic Green Tea Bowl

This is a vintage Japanese ceramic green tea bowl or matcha chawan. This piece is a perfect example of pink Shino ware. A rich terracotta brown base with a white pocked layer over the top that allows the pinkish brown to peek through. It has a thicker glaze on the inside, which makes it white with pockmarks and crackle. 
Green tea bowls are traditionally used for preparing and drinking green tea during tea ceremonies but can be used in many scenes of modern everyday life.
