Vintage Japanese Wooden Lacquer Serving Tray

This is a vintage Japanese brushed lacquer obon serving tray. It is rectangular with handles and raised sides so drinks cannot easily slide off, and it has a bold line design on the top surface. It features a raised carved design of snaking bellflowers (kikyo) with mother-of-pearl accents (raden).
Obon (serving trays) are typically used for serving drinks and snacks to guests in one’s home, business, etc. They provide both function and beautiful decor.
