Vintage Japanese Ceramic Tokoname Toothpick Holder

This is a vintage Japanese ceramic toothpick holder, also called youjitate. Crafted from a rich brownish-red clay and glazed the same color for strength, this Tokoname yaki piece is in the shape of a cow, one of the zodiac animals. It has subtle details, and has an open hole at the top for storing easily accessible toothpicks.
