Vintage Japanese Lacquered Wood Bento

This is a vintage Japanese lacquered bento lunch box called jubako. It is two-tier and a caramel brown, true to the shunkei-nuri style of lacquerware. It is a rounded square, with the sides made from a bent strip of wood. While it can be used for small meals, it can also be used as a sweets container or kashiki for sencha and tea ceremonies.

• Good condition considering its age. Light scratches. Small lacquer chip on the inside corner. Very slight and small dent on the top.  Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
