This is a five-piece set of vintage Japanese lacquered wooden drink saucers/coasters, or chataku. With a glossy black lacquer coating and makie-style butterflies in gold, silver, and pink, this lightweight and easily stackable set is a simple and classic. It has an indentation at the center to keep a cup from slipping off.
