Japanese Rice Offering Cup Buddhist Altar Fitting Butsugu
This is a Japanese rice offering cup, Buppanki, made for use in a Buddhist altar. It is made of white porcelain with blue chrysanthemum designs and a red lattice and floral pattern. The rice offered to Buddhist altars is called “Buppan”. In the Jodo Shinshu Otani sect, we use the term “Obuku”.
