Vtg Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Scroll

This Japanese vintage paper hanging scroll (kakejiku) features an image of Amida Nyorai. It is a central scroll, or gohonzon, a powerful religious image, aimed to be at the center of an altar. This kakejiku is for the Otani school, belonging to the Jodo Shinshu Buddhism. It is dark blue and red with brown floral and geometric patterns. The image is blue, yellow, orange, green, and gold.
