Vintage Japanese Teen Students Field Photograph

This is an original vintage Showa Era photograph of a group of teen boys (students or soldiers in casual clothes, it is not clear). They pose in a field in front of human remains (skulls and femurs). Another boy holds what appears to be a charred military helmet. Whose these remains are is unknown, however, it is inferred this picture may have been taken in Manchuria during the colonizing and rebuilding process by the Japanese. Students in the 1930s-1940s often were trained in military topics as a proper school subject to prepare them for service when they graduated.
