Vtg Japanese Lacquerware Wood Bowl Kashiki

This is a vintage Japanese brushed lacquer lidded wooden snack bowl, or kashiki. Kashiki is a bowl or container that holds sweets served at Japanese tea ceremonies. It can be used for household use, decoration, and as well as for storing small items like jewelry or coasters. It is hollowed out and stained a medium brown with a brushed lacquer clear coat. The bowl side and the edge of the lid are textured and dark brown. The side has a carved-like surface. It comes with the original paper box.
