Japanese Bamboo Kasa Hat

This is a vintage Japanese bamboo leaf Kasa (or Sugegasa) hat. It has several Japanese characters painted on the top and a net on the inside to facilitate attachment to the head. Pilgrims traditionally wear this hat for protection from direct sunlight or rain and snow. It is also used as a prop in Japanese dance and is a perfect decorative item.

• Good condition considering its age. Some of the paint is faded. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos carefully.
