Vtg Japanese Ainu Wood-Carved Wall Hanging

This is a vintage Japanese Hokkaido Ainu wood-carving of a man. Often in pairs and depicted as carved wooden dolls called “Nipopo”, this wall hanging likely would have come with the female one as well. This carving displays traditional Ainu clothing for males as well as a long beard. It has a metal loop on the back for easy hanging.
