Antique Japanese Sword Fitting Metal Tsuba

This is an antique iron sword guard (tsuba) used on all kinds of blades from samurai katana to small daggers. This piece has a decorative design that includes flowers and a koban coin. It protects the sword user’s hand and helps balance the weight of the weapon.
